Becoming a New Man

Being there for your child

About Us
One of the few services in the city to partner with helping men and single father’s.
Reed has a heart for men that want to change their lives for the better, for their kids, their wives and their community. Men that have been broken and need a man to walk beside them as they journey this road to recovery and a more stable way of life. Reed has been working in the nonprofit world for over 15 years, working with both men and women in transitional housing and recovery mostly. Reed’s a husband, a dad and a military veteran.
He saw that something was missing when it came to men and single parent males raising their children alone. Men need help just as much as women. And they need accountability, but in a loving way that doesn’t make them feel put down or not respected. The world we live in has given men a bad rap and there are many men doing good things for their families and their communities. Also there are many men that just didn’t have a positive role model in their lives to teach them.

Facts
Here are a few facts frow Pew Research and the U.S Census.
Men raising children alone are more likely to get less aid than women with children because the focus has always been women are the traditional nurturers. Let’s change that view, because both men and women possess the capacity for nurturing their children. Men can express protective, active care and also show empathy while raising their children alone.

New Man Connection depends on the generosity of those in our community like you. We don’t receive any support from federal or local state agencies. So thank you in advance for all of your support.
How can I donate ?
Yes. We are always in need of financial support. Anyone can sponsor a single father that we work with or man that can use a few things to keep him going until he’s back on his feet.
How are funds utilized ?
Funds are used 90% for the program helping men in recovery and homelessness. And helping single fathers with their children. The other 10% is used for admin cost of keeping things going for NMC.
Can I volunteer with NMC?
Yes. You can volunteer or mentor alongside with us. There are men that would love the support from other positive male role models.

We worked with them in a partnership for the single parents in our programs, and saw a big impact in mentorship with over a dozen fathers. I wish more men had other men to whole them accountable in a brotherly loving way. Great work, great work!

I’ve seen how they came alongside the male participants in some of our programs and met some of their basic needs without judgement and becoming a friend to guys for life.

“My New Year’s resolution in 2022 was to never end up homeless again and be there for my little girl. Your mentoring support has really changed my life around. It has pushed me to make all my child support payments on time and maintain my work, my housing and my sobriety. Thank you so very much. I can’t thank you enough.”
